We have been learning deeply in math in a variety of ways as we celebrated the 100th Day of School. The children have enjoyed writing numbers to 100, counting to 100 by 10s, 25s, or 50s, building structures using 100 items, and even being visited by the popular Zero the Hero! Each child brought in a collection of 100 items. We enjoyed weighing the collections and determining which was the heaviest and which was the lightest (there were some surprising results!). We can’t wait to see what other learning and fun the next 100 days will bring!

Our entire Wise School community experienced wholeness as we visited Camp Alonim for Tu B'Shvat. As we prepared for the holiday, the students discussed the importance of trees, writing about what trees provide us with, and what we provide trees with. They also drew models of trees and labeled the different parts. This learning was of culminated at camp for a fun-filled day of learning and celebrating all while being outdoors. The children went on a nature scavenger hunt, decorated pots for planting, and danced and sang with their Sixth Grade Buddies. From a Jewish perspective, we learned about how we can connect with nature and the importance of Tikkun Olam. How wonderful to celebrate Tu B’Shvat as a community all while learning how to make great happen in our beautiful world.
