Hello Ulpanon Alef Parents,
We had a very busy and fun week. On Monday morning, we went to Havdalah services with all our friends in the Early Childhood Center. Together, with Rabbi Josh and our music teacher, Brock, we sang the blessings, songs about friendships and wishing each other a good week. Throughout the week, we worked very hard on our Mother’s Day gift. We also enjoyed spending time with all of the mommies and grandmothers that came to visit our classroom. They drew their children on a canvas and also painted the Magen David for Israel’s Birthday, which is Thursday, May 12th. The children created their flags so they can use them next week while celebrating Israel’s Birthday, Yom Ha'atzmaut. We also learned new songs about mommies and Israel. Reminders: Please send your children to school wearing blue and white on Thursday, May12 and Friday, May13 for Yom Ha’atzmaut (Israel's Birthday) Library on May 10: Raha Shabbat Ema on May 13: Claire Tot Shabbat on May 20 We wish everyone a very Happy Mother’s Day. This week we are continuing with our Purim unit. We compared Megilat Esther to the Torah. We learned that the Torah has two handles and many stories. The Megilah has one handle and only one Purim story. We made a clown that lays on his tummy and the children had the opportunity to draw their own face impression on the clown. They decorated his body with paint. We learned the songs Lkova Shelly Shalosh Pinot (My hat has three corners) , Litzan Katan (small clown) and Chag Purim . The children love to dress up and they are pretending that they are the characters of the Megilah. We read and acted out The Story of the Shkediah (almond tree) and the story of Saba Eliezer and the Carrot (Grandfather Eliezer and the Carrot). Liam’s Dad read for us at the library and we went to sing with Ditza. Our children are in love with Tricycle Express – it gives them a chance to ride and run with their friends on the yard. Special thanks to the families that donated costumes for our housekeeping corner - the children love to dress up. Shabbat Shalom, Miri and Mira Ulpanon Alef,

We got to make our very own Hanukkiot with glass pieces and bolts. We also got to create paper dreidels and decorated our own vases. Shabbat Shalom, Miri and Miri Ulpanon Alef This week the unit we are working on is colors! We started off our week by baking a colorful cake.
