Dear Parents,
Thank you for such a wonderful Passover Seder this past week. The children had so much fun having you all there and the food was delicious. Our last week before break has been filled with Passover fun while also incorporating our senses content. We made chocolate covered matzah while practicing using plastic knives, mixed sand with shaving cream to discover a new material, sang our Passover songs and even made our own Seder plates and matzah covers. Our friends in room 12 have been working hard on our many projects that involve our five senses, and most recently we have been working on things that we hear. During snack and lunch the students have been applying the concept of hearing to their foods. They have practiced saying “listen to me crunch” as they incorporate these lessons into daily lift. The children also got to decorate mezuzahs for decoration this week. We discussed the prayer that is inside and used our fine motor skills to decorate these for decoration at home. The friends in room 12 have really advanced with their ability to complete 10 piece puzzles. Whether guidance and support is needed or not, all of the students enjoy our puzzles and we have been able to graduate to newer and more challenging 15 piece puzzles. It is important to not change out the puzzles too often so that everybody can get a chance to master it and feel confident in their abilities before increasing the level of difficulty, however slightly that may be. Reminder: We will be on spring break for the next two weeks. We return to school on Monday May 2nd. The first week that we get back will be mothers and grandmothers week. We hope that mothers and grandmothers can join us for the first hour of our day, 9am-10am, to explore our toys and art activities for the week. We will miss everybody so much over the break and hope that you all have safe travels and relaxing days ahead. Best wishes, Tatiana and Lashelle
