Dear parents,
This week has been filled with celebrations. We started off the week celebrating "Earth Day" on Monday. Your children, along with the rest of the Explorers had a great time singing with Brock, doing yoga, juicing oranges and planting with the parent volunteers. After enjoying the activities, we went to our backyard garden and planted tomatoes, strawberries and cucumbers. We can't wait to see them grow and bear fruit for us to enjoy. The children had a surprise from Lonnie Mayfield, our schools director of operations. He was so amazed with how calm and respectful our friends are when he comes to inspect the room, he asked if he could do something special for them. This turned into a toy hunt and everyone was able to participate. Your children will visit his office next week to say thank you with a card. Tuesday and Wednesday your children continued to work on their letters "I" and "J". We also did a recall about words that start with the letters we have worked on previously. Please ask your children to tell you words that start with the letters a thru “J”. Thursday we celebrated the holiday of Yom Ha'atzmaut. We, along with the rest of the Explorers once again sang and danced with Brock and culminated the day with a sumptuous snack of falafel, hummus, Israeli salad, olives, and some yummy Israeli chocolates we shared with our friends from room 12. Your children had a great time! We want to thank you all once again for helping us make this celebration a success. From the bottom of our hearts we want you to know that we appreciate everything that you do for our class. Have a restful weekend and Shabbat shalom! Bam and Lashelle
