Room 14 has had an AMAZING week at school. We started the week with a beautiful Havdalah ceremony marking the end of Shabbat and introducing a new week. It was such a blessing to have Rabbi Josh and teacher Brock singing the blessings and explaining to us the importance of the candle, wine and sweet spices. We continued our discussion of Purim and this week we made Hamantaschen (filled triangle cookies). We spent one day preparing the dough, and all of the children had so much fun adding ingredients and choosing jelly or chocolate chips to go inside. The best part of the process was definitely enjoying the cookies (they were delicious)! Wednesday was another busy day. We decorated crowns with jewels and glue, we had music with Brock and sang Purim songs that had all the kids dancing and clapping around. We also introduced the letter H, and the children drew houses. It was amazing how creative and detailed they were in this process. On Thursday, we put blocks on the tables and so the children could build Shushan. It was so much fun and it was exciting to have all of the children get involved, We ended the week with a beautiful Shabbat celebrating Purim. We hope you all have a beautiful weekend.
