As Passover approaches, we continue to discuss the importance of helping others and being kind to one another. With that, we began with a Wise school Sova drive Monday morning. Our children felt proud when they dropped their canned items into the BIG Sova box. We read the story, Joey and the Giant Box, The story was about the importance of giving to those in need and how much it helps the world to become a better place. We encourage our children to bring Sova and Tzedakah on Fridays to help those in need and we will continue to discuss the importance of helping one another.
During group time, we discussed the Passover story. We shared that Passover is one of the most important religious festivals in the Jewish calendar. Jews celebrate the Feast of Passover (Pesach in Hebrew) to commemorate the liberation of the Children of Israel who were led out of Egypt by Moses. This holiday, in particular, has so many wonderful children's songs that, together, tell the entire story. We have been hard at work, learning and practicing for our Seder with all of you. The children also began some tye-dye Passover art projects (matzah covers). The children chose their three favorite colors, and with a little help with the rubber bands, they painted each of their sections the way they wanted. The covers look beautiful and ready for Passover! In the spirit of Passover and one the Plagues Pharaoh placed on the Jews, we started to make rock frogs using natural materials. We ended the week with a beautiful Shabbat with Harper and her family. We hope you have a wonderful weekend and we look forward to celebrating Passover with you on Thursday April 6th! Reminders: April 6- Passover Seder @ 11:15 am April 7th- Half Day 12 o clock dismissal Shabbat Shalom!
