Dear Room 14 Families,
What a fun-filled week we’ve had! We began our week with Earth Day. We made coffee filter “earths” using markers and spray bottles filled with water. The children enjoyed watching the colors blend together once they were wet. We did some yoga poses (giraffe, butterfly, making a cake, day dream, upward dog and downward dog), learned about composting, planted peas and watermelon seeds and drank healthy smoothies. We learned about shapes and looked around our room to find circles, squares, rectangles and triangles in our environment. Please look around at home and the environment (grocery store, walking around town, post office, doctor’s office, etc.) with your child and point out objects and talk about what shape they are. You can ask your child what shape their food is. You can ask them about the table, chairs, doors and other objects around the house. We also worked on a community Israel project. Room 14 made a Jewish star in the center and hamsa hand prints all around it. It’s really beautiful! The Explorer classes will all be contributing to this large Israel canvas. We celebrated Yom Ha’atzmaut (Israel’s Birthday) on Thursday by wearing blue and white clothes and eating an Israeli flag cake! We had music with Brock and sang Hebrew songs! We had a great Shabbat with Sky and his family. Thank you for all you do and for having such amazing children! Have a great weekend and Shabbat Shalom! Lots of love, Sarah & Tiffany Thank You: Sarah & Ben and Arlen & Sky for a yummy healthy snack! Sky & Family for a beautiful Shabbat! Reminders: Stacy & Truman are bringing our healthy snack next week (April 27) Liam & Family are coming for Shabbat (May 1st)
