Hello Parents-
Room 14 started our week at temple, participating in our last Havdalah of the year. We gathered with all of our friends and sang songs, smelled spices and lit the candle as we brought in a new week. When we got back to class, we played with little legos. These are so important as an activity because it not only boosts creativity, but it provides the children with a wonderful way to work on fine motor skills. The children loving making lego cars, lego houses and, of course, lego ships! Tuesday we had our last fire drill of the year and now the children are pros and know exactly what to do. We also started our father’s day project. We used corks, pom poms and a lot of tacky glue. We can’t wait for all of the daddies to see it! Wednesday we enjoyed Pajama / Crazy hair day with Room 15! We all came to school in our pjs and had our hair all silly. We played with playdough, magnet tiles and had dress up clothes all around the room. Colton and Paige’s mommy also came in to help us make quesadillas. It was a very special treat and the children really enjoyed themselves. Brock also joined in on the fun of crazy hair day and played some fun music with us. He brought us the guiro (a Latin American instrument) to explore. Thursday we celebrated a Jewish holiday called Lag B’ Omer. Lag B'Omer, is a Jewish holiday celebrated on the 33rd day of the Counting of the Omer, which occurs on the 18th day of the Hebrew month of Iyar. For this holiday, we asked the children to come to school with their lunches in picnic bags and, together we enjoyed a beautiful picnic with our friends from room 15. It was nice to share this moment with another class, and it was great to be outside for lunch time. We ended the week with our last beautiful Shabbat of the year. We hope you have a nice weekend.
