Dear Room 14 Parents, This week we set up our very own supermarket! We took turns being the cashiers and the shoppers. We used play money and learned more about counting. The children purchased food and put it in their reusable tote bags. We made “name art” projects using glue and water colors. Look for your child’s name hanging up in our classroom. We also traced different shapes and we painted and put glitter on pine cones. We got our exercise in by going to “tricycle express”. We talked about what we are thankful for during our circle time. Some of our friends said: “I’m thankful for my daddy”, “I’m thankful for riding by bike” “I’m thankful for my bed”, “I’m thankful for my toys” “I’m thankful for my mommy and my daddy” and “I’m thankful for my friends”. It is very special to have these conversations with our students. We teachers believe that being grateful is a very important trait and an essential piece to living a happy and healthy life. We want to instill this quality in our children. We will continue this topic leading up to Thanksgiving and beyond. We are having so much fun ‘exploring’ and learning together. Thank You: Thank you to Michelle and Kaitlyn for our yummy snack! Thank you Elizabeth and Leena for cooking with us! Thank you to everyone for bringing in the empty containers for our supermarket. The children really enjoy playing store. RemindersElizabeth and Leena snack week 11/3-11-7
