Dear Parents,
Although it was a short week here at Wise, there was lots of fun and learning in our classroom! We continued our meaningful discussions about friendship and how we treat others. This theme was also incorporated into our music class with Andrew as we sang songs about being nice to one another and talked about being a good friend. The children drew pictures of a friend of theirs in the class that they don’t usually get a chance to play with. They reviewed body parts, shapes, and the break down of how we draw people to help transition them out of the tadpole drawing stage. We have also continued our uppercase letter and number recognition through games, puzzles, and spelling out names in the morning. We have adapted our morning names spelling so that children identify the names of other children in the class, taking clues from the first letter and it’s sound. We also have begun putting out a sequencing puzzle that pushes the children to really look at the pictures on the pieces and think cognitively about their order, such as a dirty car getting washed or brushing our teeth. We have begun discussing Tu B’Shevat and will soon begin exploring gardening and cooking with these fruits. Thank you to Michaela and her family for being Shabbat family and celebrating Michaela’s birthday. Reminders: The Tu B’Shevat sign up list is out next to the sign in sheet. We have Hadvalah early on Monday morning, so please be sure to arrive on time so that we can walk over as a class, making the transition easier for the children. We have library on Tuesday and the library moms are Sunny Hassid and Hedya Shaoul. Next Shabbat we have two Shabbat boys, Sasha and Elijah. Coming up February 5th-9th is father’s and grandfather’s week. Shabbat Shalom, Room 14 teachers
