Dear Room #12 Parents,
On Monday, we set-up a castle in the housekeeping corner of our room. The castle, of course, is in the town of Shushan. Each day, two children are picked to take their mats and sleeping bags and rest in the castle after they finish their lunch. They have been enjoying this experience very much. The castle will stay up through next week. Please start a conversation with your children by asking them how we transformed a corner of their room into a castle. This week, we also decorated masks for Purim. The children were able to glue different items onto the colored masks, the teachers fastened pipe cleaners on the sides, and then, the children will be able to wear them. We made delicious hamantaschen this week as well. On Tuesday, we prepared the dough which needed to be refrigerated overnight. On Wednesday, we formed the triangles, placed the jelly in the middle, pinched the corners, and baked them. DELICIOUS We took a visit to the Max Hess Library on Wednesday, and enjoyed music with Brock on Thursday. We would like to thank all the Daddies and Grandpas who came to school to visit with their little loved ones in Room #12. What a special treat for all! This week, we also worked on the letter “K”. It is not easy to find words that start with the letter “K”, however, we all did our best. We hope to see all of you this Sunday, March 1st for our Purim Carnival. There will be music and stories by Ditza starting at 10:00am, with the carnival starting at 10:30 and ending at 3:30. YOUR CHILDREN MAY DRESS-UP FOR PURIM ON FRIDAY, MARCH 6th. WE ASK THAT THEY NOT WEAR THEIR OWN MASKS ON THAT DAY, BUT MAY PUT ON THE ONE THEY MADE IN SCHOOL. If you haven’t already, please ask your children to tell you the Purim story…..too cute! Shabbat Shalom, Cindy & Miriam
