Dear Parents,
It's been a short week with a lot of activity going on. Our Staff Development Day was spent interacting with all our teachers and preparing for your children's upcoming conferences on March 14th & 15th. During circle time, the children were eager to talk about the different activities they did over the long weekend. We continue to practice recognizing and counting numbers. When it comes to number recognition, repetition is the key to success! The more the children are exposed to written numbers, the easier it will be for them to recognize and differentiate between them. During circle time, we read the book," Ten Black Dots," by Donald Crews. It is a simple counting book that shows what can be done with ten black dots. One can make a sun, two can make eyes, and three can make a face. The children also did a matching activity where they counted black marbles and matched them to the correct number. They spent time manipulating on the rug with number magnets and counting with building blocks. The children enjoyed their music time with Teacher Andrew and they were briefly introduced by Rabbi Josh to the story of Purim--more is yet to come. Shabbat was celebrated and enjoyed by all, we thank the Rosen family for joining us and making it special.
