Dear Parents,
This week we finished our spring flower still art. Your children worked so hard using their imagination and creativity skills by first drawing their flower and then precisely picking out which shells they wanted to use throughout their flowers. Every flower came out amazingly different and unique. While they were diligently working on their flowers, some of the comments that they had expressed were; “Mine has branches instead of leaves,” “I only want to use small shells for my stem,” “I have two butterflies sitting on my flower and two eyes,” “This is the most fun project ever,” and “I want to make one for my sister.” Throughout this entire still art process, your children practiced their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and patience. While this final step took a long time for them to complete, they worked hard and took their time. We have observed that none of them were in a hurry to be done and they have shown pride and excitement to show off their work. Please be sure to come check out their artwork if you have not yet seen it. Our robot is finally complete! Your children have been coming up with suggestions on its name. We are working on our critical thinking skills by deciding on many different aspects to the robot. They have not yet decided on if it is a boy or girl, but your children will be putting their minds together and working on their reasoning skills to come to a decision together. Our final touches included adding on ears, eye balls, a belly button, shoes and the hair. This has also been a long process that involved many different steps over the course of a few months. Once again, your children were patient with this process and the robot is now another friend in our classroom. We can’t wait to let you know once they decide on a name! Thank you to Ben and his family for spending Shabbat with us! Shabbat Shalom! REMINDERS: *Friday, May 4th- half day.
