Dear Parents,
This week, we continued our lesson about Sukkot. We had the opportunity to visit the Sukkah with Cantor Emma, who taught us the blessings and gave each child a turn to hold and shake the lulav and Etrog. We sang songs and talked about what we need to build a Sukkah. Also, in the classroom we continued to learn more about Sukkot by reading books, looking more in depth of what makes up the lulav and how the Etrog feels, smells and what it symbolizes. Rabbi Sari joined us and our friends in Room 12 to further discuss Sukkot. We even got to sing and dance together, holding our pretend lulav and Etrog. Be sure to check out your children’s still art drawings of their lulav and Etrog. They worked very diligently and patiently while they looked at what colors they needed to draw the branches and leaves. While we feel that we are moving through the different holidays quickly, we are trying to teach and provide your children with as much information as we can. That being said, we have already started our lesson about Simchat Torah, as well as creating our own flags to use in Temple next week. While we make sure that your children are having tons of fun, we are making sure to provide with as many learning experiences and opportunities as possible. They have been hard at work, creating stronger bonds with their classmates and continuing to understand the different expectations and boundaries at school. We had a beautiful Shabbat together and your children are becoming more comfortable with the new routine during our Shabbat services. Shabbat Shalom!
