Dear Parents,
While this was a short week, we still had a ton of fun, lots of learning and exploring throughout the rest of the week. Our week started off with music with Andrew where we enjoyed playing with new shakers, practiced singing our names, dancing all around and even sang a song about Tu B’Shevat. We have started our classroom discussion about Tu B’Shevat and what it means. We will continue to expand our discussion and explore about the holiday more throughout the upcoming weeks. On Thursday, we got to meet with Rabbi Sari. Rabbi Sari is now meeting with our classroom on Thursdays while Rabbi Josh is home with his baby. Rabbi Sari shared the story about the twins named Sam and Rosie who always complained about everything not realizing all the wonderful things around them. We thought this important lesson being appreciative and grateful is not only for our young children but for us adults. While we get caught up with the hustle and bustle of everyday life, we tend to forget to appreciate the little things in life. This ties in perfectly with the holiday of Tu B’Shevat “It is considered a festival of nature, full of wonder, joy, and thankfulness for God’s creation in anticipation of the renewal of the natural world.”-The Jewish Home (Revised Edition) by Daniel B. Syme We are looking forward to the weeks to come and having her join us for a wonderful lesson each week. On Friday, we enjoyed a beautiful Shabbat service and we would like to thank Caleb and his family for joining us. We hope that everyone has a wonderful weekend and Shabbat Shalom.
