Dear Parents of Room 15,
While this was a short week, we still had a wonderful one! On Monday, we worked on our fine motor skills, practicing cutting on a line and drawing all the shapes we know. On Tuesday, we baked our own personal apple pies and apple turnovers. While baking, we worked on turn taking, discussed about Rosh Hashanah and all the different apples we could use. On Wednesday, we had our apple tasting which consisted of all kinds of apples dipped in honey. Our circle time throughout the week revolved around Rosh Hashanah and all about kindness. We read stories about our invisible buckets (our hearts) and being “bucket fillers” (helping friends, being kind, listening to adults and friends when they are talking and doing something nice for someone else) and “bucket dippers” (hurting a friends feelings, not sharing, not being kind and not listening to adults). These books discussed what it means to be kind and why we want to be “bucket fillers.” This then prompted discussions amongst everyone on what they think it means to be kind and what ways they can help fill someone else’s buckets as well as their own (kindness beings with me). Wishing everyone a wonderful Rosh Hashanah, an early Shabbat Shalom and a beautiful weekend.
