Shalom Ulpanon Bet families,
We started the week with a beautiful Havdalah service at Plotkin chapel led by Rabbi Josh and with music teacher Brock. The children enjoyed singing the “Brachot” (blessings) and joining together with their friends for “Hine Ma Tov” hug movement. It was a nice and a great spiritual way to start the week. Lag Ba’Omer is here! We learned the holiday vocabulary: Medura-bonfire, Esh- fire and learned the tradition that in Israel children collect wood and on the day of the Holiday they make a bonfire and roast potatoes. They learned that here in America we have the tradition of roasting marshmallows and making smores. The children had fun making their own bonfire art and roasting marshmallows and eating smores. We are so proud of the children for being very enthusiastic about practicing for celebration performance, we are all excited and looking forwards to share this special memory- celebration together. This week was also Leah’s special Shabbat, her mom Sally read us 3 of Leah’s favorite books: “My adventure with Princes collection”, “The Dawn Fairy” and “The Kissing Hand”. On Friday we celebrated a whole school Shabbat- for the last Shabbat of the school all classes celebrated Shabbat together in the synagogue. We enjoyed a very blessed and special Shabbat. We really want to extend a warm thank you to all the parents who volunteered their time and effort to make this year amazing. We asked and you made it happen. We had so many parties and celebrations and so many fun activities this year and because of your time and all the wonderful things you brought we were able to do this. A special thanks to Layne for being our room parent! Layne did such a great job and helped us so much.
