Shalom Ulpanon Bet Families,
THANK YOU!!! Thank you for the beautiful and thoughtful Mishloach Manot that we have received from all of the amazing Ulpanon Bet families. Thank you for the treats, your kind words, and your endless appreciation. It truly means the world to us. What a fun, festive, and most importantly a HAPPY (which is one of the Mitzvot of Purim) week we had. The children had a blast dressing up for two days. On Thursday, the Pre K classes joined the day school for a celebration for the Megilah reading and singing songs. On Friday, we celebrated with Ditza and the Purim story was told. This time even the teachers were dressed as the Purim characters. This week, on Monday, we had a beautiful whole school Havdalah ceremony with Rabbi Josh and Brock . The children learned that when Shabbat ends we do a Havdalah ceremony where we say blessings over the wine, light, and over the fragrance. It was very spiritual and a nice way to start the week. In class, we turned recycled bottles into nice grogers that we used in the synagogue while listening to the Megilah reading. We also showed the children a Torah and a Megilat Esther. We then had a discussion about similarities and differences. The children enjoyed putting together Mishloach Manot items in the basket and exchanging them of Friday. On Tuesday, our 6th grade buddies (group varies 2-5) joined us for the activities in our class. It is beautiful to see our older friends speak to us in Hebrew. They even played a Purim vocabulary memory game with us. Also ,Shoreh, Aiden’s mom, read us the book: “Too Many Toys” by: David Shannon. It was donated to the library by the Saadat family in honor of Aiden’s 5th birthday. A new class: “Goofy Gil” is being offered. It is a new enrichment and the teacher has offered to spend a half hour with each Pre-K class on Friday. Not only will all of your children have the opportunity to participate, but each of you will be able to get a feel for what he does and the benefits of the class. He plays a variety of games which focus on developing gross-motor skills, cooperation and competition. Ask your child about the try out, registration is still available. Pre-K students visited kindergarten and their big cat exhibit. They learned that tigers live in the jungle. They visited Africa to see cheetahs and lions. They even saw a lion in class. This week was Elad’s Shabbat, and his family celebrated with us and brought us Oznei Haman as a treat. Reminders and events:
Warmly, Meirav & Talia
