Dear Parents, It's hard to believe that the end of the year is upon us. The children have grown so much this year and are eager and ready to head off to Kindergarten. As they are anxiously awaiting their special day, the Pre- K Celebration, and then becoming Kindergarteners, we kicked off the countdown by creating a paper chain. They took construction paper, cut strips of paper, and taped the ends together to form a link. Next, they thread the strip of paper through the link, and did this several times to form a chain. This is an easy way for kids to understand how many days they have left, as well as practice their math skills. Each day a different child will go up to the chain and count how many days left to their big day! The children have been very busy rehearsing their songs for the big day. We had our first rehearsal in the Temple this week with all the classes. The children are natural performers, they made us so proud. During group time we discussed with the children different changes they will experience in Kindergarten. They are aware that they will arrive to school earlier and stay a little later. They mentioned how they get to wear the Wise uniform and not their regular clothes. The most popular difference was that they get to go to the bathroom by themselves. With all the excitement they are feeling, they are also experiencing different emotions. Some children said they feel scared, worried, sad, nervous, and a little unsure. We talked about how normal it is to feel a mix of emotions and that with change comes growth. During times of change, a little extra attention will go a long way in helping the children deal with the exciting changes ahead. We celebrated Shabbat with two families, Eden Ghodsian and Harper Gabayzadeh. We enjoyed our time together in the classroom and Temple, creating memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you for joining us and making the day special.
