Shalom Ulpanon Bet Families, This was a special week here in Ulpanon Bet…We celebrated Israel’s 68th Birthday!!! In class we talked about why Israel is so important to us and how Israel is always in our heart. The children made their own pictures of the “Kotel Ha Maaravi” (Western Wall) and wrote their own special wish to put between the cracks of the Wall. We made our own falafel balls from scratch! We soaked the garbanzo beans and then we grounded them up so we can turn them into balls for frying. This was a really fun experience! We continued the spirit of Yom Ha’Atzmaut by celebrating in class. We sang songs, including happy birthday to Israel, and then said a special blessing for Israel. We also celebrated with the entire Pre K and had a “Shuk”(market). Each child had “Israeli” money and was able to “purchase” Israeli snacks. Pre K joined the day school for their Yom Ha’Atzmaut celebration. Another special Birthday! We celebrated for our special friend Leah who turned 5 this week! This week was Leah’s special Shabbat and her family came to celebrate with us. Thank you to Maytal for having a special guest join our classroom. His name is Miles, and he is a soldier in the Israeli Army. He grew up in California and one day he decided that he wanted to join the Israeli Army, so he moved there and has been serving since. He talked to us about his job and how he protects Israel. After that, he answered questions from the children. Thank You Ulpanon Bet families for all the food items you brought to class for the different celebrations. Remainders:
Warmly, Meirav and Talia
