Dear Parents of Room 20,
Our week started off with quite a busy and fun Monday! We had music with Andrew and got to sing some new songs. He brought in a parachute which the children had an absolute blast playing with. They got to hold on to the sides, shaking it and lifting it up and down. Since they have gotten so great at freeze dance and wanted to play it, we got to show Andrew just how wonderful they follow directions. While under the parachute, they danced, hoped, skipped, twirled and most importantly, froze when the song said to “freeze”. We spent a lot of time talking about rainbows, the colors we see in one, where we see them and how we can make one. Your children were able to create their own rainbows which you can see inside our classroom. We were able to work on fine motor skills such as using a glue bottle and putting the paper on the glue to create each part of the rainbow. We also got to go to the library with a few friends to check out some books about rainbows. The favorite seemed to be about a rainbow fish. The children have been so excited to tell us what colors they see! After all of our rainbow talks, we got to go on a special field trip (fire drill). Everyone walked so nicely all the way up to the parking lot to our designated spot. The loud noises we heard brought on a discussion about things that are loud and why we need to have a practice fire drill. On Wednesday, we filled our sensory bin with lavender. The children had a fun time exploring with it. They put on gloves, got spoons and cups, and were scooping it up and pouring it out. Some of the children even expressed how good it smells. We also got to do our very own science experiment to make a different kind of rainbow. The children poured water onto a plate with some colored items and watched to see what would happen. They very patiently stood at the table and when they started to see all the colors coming together in the middle, we heard lots of “look at mine”, “it’s working”, and talk about what colors they saw. While we were outside playing, the crane doing construction was moving around so closely and all the children stood in awe, watching the crane moving up and ton. On Friday, we had a wonderful Shabbat with Scarlett and her family. Thank you so much for bringing in snack and spending the time with us. Hope everyone has a nice weekend. See you on Wednesday, February 22nd. Thank you, Marloes, Michelle and Tatiana Reminders: NO SCHOOL on Monday, February 20th NO SCHOOL on Tuesday, February 21st
