Dear Parents, We started this week off with a lovely Havdalah service in the Sanctuary with Rabbi Josh and Teacher Brock. Havdalah is a ritual that takes place after Shabbat and literally means "to separate." In short, it signifies the end of Shabbat and the beginning of a new week, representing our intentions to have a peaceful, joyful and positive week awaiting the upcoming Shabbat. Rabbi Josh led us by lighting the special braided Havdalah candle, blessing the wine and smelling the spices. What a wonderful way to start our week! We are looking forward to going to the Temple for Havdalah and doing our own service in the classroom, too. On Wednesday, we spent a great deal of time observing our cocoons. One started to move around and our hypothesis is they'll be ready to come out very soon! The children are so excited to see our beautiful butterflies emerge. With a new perspective, the children watched and listened closely to the felt story of "The Very Hungry Caterpillar." Take a look on Monday, we may have some butterflies to release. Shabbat services on Friday were extra special as we celebrated Purim and wore costumes. We even got to see Teacher Sue all dressed up to play the part of Uncle Mordecai during the Purim play. Also, a special thanks to our Shabbat girl, Devin, and her family. Devin really enjoyed being Shabbat girl and having her family share in the celebration- she did a wonderful job! **Some reminders- We will be having another Beit Issie Farmers Market organized by the Wise Parent Association on April 1st. Please bring 6 washed apples to class to donate on Wednesday, March 30th. Also, please give your child 2-3 dollars to purchase fruit the day of the Farmers Market. (Friday, April 1) Shabbat Shalom and have a wonderful weekend, Sue & Anita
