Dear Parents of Room 20,
We had such a fun week in room 20 while we began our study of Hanukah. The students have been singing the dreidel song to become familiar with it and we have seen them using their memory to repeat the song throughout the day. We have also done painting in a plastic bag with Hanukkah colors so that the children can experience painting without getting dirty while also practicing their fine motor skills. We have also been continuing with felt stories that are familiar to the children with the intention of practicing the children’s memory, repetition and also counting throughout the stories. In circle time we talked about the weather since it has been changing as of recently. We went over comparative vocabulary terms such as hot, cold, windy, sunny and cloudy. We also discussed what is appropriate clothing to wear when we feel different temperatures. The children were able to use their imagination in lots of toys that we had out this week, such as the dollhouse and the office materials. We began our Shabbat boy and girl this week, starting with Grayson. It was such a joy having his whole family join us and the children loved watching their friend go up to the bima in Temple. Next week we are so excited to have David be our Shabbat boy. Reminder: We will be having our classroom pot luck Hanukkah party on December 14th. Parents are invited. We will have a signup sheet on Monday. Have a wonderful weekend and we look forward to seeing everybody on Monday. Shabbat Shalom, Marloes, Michelle and Tatiana
