Dear Room 20 Parents,
We started our week off with a wonderful music class with Teacher Andrew. We sang songs, danced around, played instruments and got to use the parachute. Throughout the morning, we explored playing with cornstarch and conditioner. The children got to roll it in to different shapes, make different flavored pretend ice cream and get nice and messy! We also experimented with the concept of drip painting. When it comes to fun fine motor art for kids, this was a favorite amongst the children. When the paper is set vertically, it creates a good position for wrist involvement. So it is no surprise that we did this to strengthen our wrists, hands and fingers for pre-writing skills. They were also able to experiment with pressure. They only needed to squeeze the tubes a little bit in order to create the drip effect. Drip painting is also a fun way to review identifying colors and learn about color mixing. The caterpillars have formed their chrysalis’, so we moved them into the butterfly box and have been patiently awaiting them to turn into a butterfly. We also got to go on a field trip this week. We were able to go to the library and read a few books together. Everyone got to sit together on a chair or on the floor and we practiced being quiet in the library and reading lots of fun stories! This week was also special as we celebrated two birthdays! Happy 3rd birthday to Liv and Elijah!! On Friday, we celebrated Shabbat with Elijah and his family. We would like to thank you all for bringing in snacks and sharing the special day with us. Shabbat Shalom, Marloes, Michelle and Tatiana Reminders: -Wednesday, May 24th- Ice cream party.
