Dear Parents,
What a fun and eventful Fathers and Grandfathers week it has been. We welcomed Daddies, Grandpas and even an Uncle! We want to send a big thanks to all the families who participated. Lou-Lou, Uncle A, Danny, Rich, Grandpa Grandpa Michael, Grandpa Brian, and Grandpa Scott You helped to make it extra special! A big highlight in the classroom this week was our wood working table where wooden pieces were stacked, glued and crafted in to a variety of creations. We explored cornstarch and water both dry and wet adding water by pouring, dripping from a dropper and spraying with a water bottle. What happens when it gets just the right ratio of water to cornstarch- a silly, gooey concoction that can go from solid to liquid then back again. So cool! We practiced using our pincer grasp to manipulate the droppers and tried out scissors (some of us for the first time) to snip and cut paper at our writing center. We have come a long way and are showing much improvement in our fine motor skills- all very important prewriting skills. We also had a visit from Edward (our volunteer musician) again and this time he brought his banjo. The children gathered around him to listen to his music and they even got the chance to try strumming his banjo with a pick. The children are showing a willingness to try new things and their confidence is growing with each new experience. The finale of our week was the all school Shabbat with all the dads and Grandpas! We enjoyed the singing and being with family and our classmates and teachers. Shabbat Shalom and have a wonderful weekend! Sue &Anita
