Shabbat Shalom!
This week, we started off by going to Temple for a beautiful Havdalah service with Rabbi Josh and Brock. We learned some new songs and the blessings over the wine, candle and spices. After Temple and snack, we had music with Teacher Brock. We got to sing some more songs about Purim and play with a rain stick. Everyone had a blast! We also celebrated Rosa's birthday, which was so special. During our fire drill, everyone held on to the rope and walked up to the basketball court until we heard the, “All clear!” During circle time, we continued our discussion of the Purim story. We talked about all the characters and what we were going to dress up as on Friday. Purim songs are quite the hit in our classroom! We continue to incorporate learning new concepts like counting and identifying shapes through dancing and singing. Some of the songs are so silly, so we laughed a lot. The children seem to really enjoy learning and show a curiosity when exploring new topics. We also got to make Hamantaschens!! We rolled the dough, used a cookie cutter to cut out circles, put the jelly inside, and then pinched the corners together. After that, we placed them in the oven and then got to eat our delicious treats. A special thank you to Jen's mom for picking up the ingredients we needed to make them. Today, for Shabbat, it was Skyler's special day. Thank you to the Kamjoo family for celebrating with us and bringing in snack. Skyler was so excited to share the day with all of you. It was so much fun dressing up for our Purim Shabbat. We loved watching the Purim skit with Ditza and some of the teachers. Thank you to all the families for our Misloach Manot basket. We really appreciate it and thank you for the bottom of our hearts. Thank you to the Firstenberg-Khazaei family for the Misloach Manot baskets for all the kids. Thank you the Neman Family for bringing in the yummy Hamantaschens for everyone. They thought they were so delicious and ate them all. Now for some really EXCITING news..... Room 22 is officially diaper free. Everyone is using the potty! Not only are the children so proud of themselves, but we are proud teachers, too. We hope you all have a nice weekend and we will see you on Monday. Michelle and Jen Reminders: - On Friday, April 1st we will have our Famer's Market. Our class is assigned Berries (1 package of any kind). Please do not wash them. If you could bring them into our classroom no later than Thursday, March 31st, we would greatly appreciate it.
