The end of the year is almost here, but we haven’t slowed down one bit. The children have been busy building with blocks and cars, making spectacular snacks in the house-keeping area, creating beautiful works of art and socializing.
While the children are busy building with the blocks, they are learning concepts of shape, size and location. The children are using their imaginations creating and recreating patterns, and through their play and explorations, they are learning to cooperate and compromise with their friends. When creating snacks in the housekeeping area, the children are exploring different roles and situations with items and tools adults use in everyday life. Role play is also helping the children to learn about their community, their surrounding environment, and that there are a variety of careers. This week, we talked about the holiday of Shavuot. We discussed the Ten Commandments, what they are and what they mean to us today. The children also made beautifully flowered headbands to wear to Temple. We had the best time enjoying our ice cream social on the back yard with friends from other classes. Many of the children even put freshly cut fruit into their ice cream bowls. Friday we enjoyed Shabbat with Noah and his family. While in Temple Ditza told a beautiful story for Shavuot about humbleness. After Temple we went to one of the many butterfly gardens on campus and let our butterflies go free. Shabbat Shalom T&T IMPORTANT UPCOMING DATES TO REMEMBER
