Our first week back was certainly an exciting one. All he children were so happy to see one another and be reunited once again. Room 23 wasted no time jumping right in to our next unit which is learning about the holiday of Yom Haazamut, Israel’s Birthday. Our first project in preparation for this important celebration was recreating the Israeli flag so each child has one to wave proudly when we celebrate next Friday in temple. During this project the children were learning skills such as; following two and three step directions, and recreating patterns and designs. The children also visited the library this week and we started checking out books about metamorphosis and the life cycle and stages of butterflies. In the next couple of weeks we will be receiving some live caterpillars and the children will get to witness the butterflies amazing transformation. Learning about nature promotes the ability categorize and sort similarities and differences the children observe and promotes new vocabulary. The children are very excited for the caterpillars to arrive it will be a wonderful opportunity for the children to build and develop a curiosity and appreciation towards nature. This week our Shabbat boy was Eli and it was so nice to be able to celebrate together with his friends and family. We wish everyone a good Shabbat and a fun weekend.
