We had such a wonderful celebration last week celebrating Israel that the children have continued to explore some of these same activities. They pretended to fly to Israel and many other placing such as Hawaii and Las Vegas. They used different types of planes and blocks to create airports and cities. It’s so wonderful to see how they are able to incorporate everyone’s ideas into their play. We love seeing how much their play has evolved since the beginning of the year.
During the week the children were also delighted to try some new art activities. On Monday they worked with clay and special clay paint. We then put their creations into the kiln (clay oven) and out came beautiful, colorful clay leaves. Then on Wednesday we returned to recycling. They created recycled bottle bubble art onto a large piece of canvas. The children had so much fun with this activity that they wanted to share it with their friends in room 22. Fun was had by all. This week we also got an addition to our class, 10 caterpillars. We will be watching them grow and change over the next few weeks. In the end we will release the butterflies in our Shalom Garden.
