This week our curriculum has moved from Purim to Passover. At our magnet tiles table the children went from building castles to building tall pyramids. The children connected Haman’s triangle hat to the triangle pyramids. After the Purim story was narrated at temple, the children kept asking questions about Haman. Why did Haman have a big hat? Who is he? Where did Haman go? Is he a bad guy? We answered the questions, and then later the children understood that he was not a nice person, because he wanted all the Jewish people to bow down to him. We also discussed how Esther was the hero by saving all the Jewish people from Haman’s wicked plan. As we began to tell the story of Passover, the children started to make a connection between Haman and King Pharaoh. In the story of Passover, we learned that King Pharaoh who was not nice to the Jewish people by making them slaves. We introduced the children to the next hero, Moses, who saved all the Jews from slavery. Next week we will continue to learn more about Passover. We are looking forward to seeing you all next Thursday, April 4 at 9:30am for our classroom Seder, where we will tell the story of Passover, do the blessings over the Seder plate and eat. It was so nice chatting and touching base with so many of you. Morning drop off and pick up time can be quite busy so we were glad that we had the opportunity to talk with you about how wonderful your children are doing, and to share a little bit about what their days are like at school. They are all growing and developing - and we are so proud of them! Thank you all for taking the time to come in. Shabbat Shalom Julia and Marcela. Reminders: Spring Break- April 15 to April 21/2019
