Dear Parents, This week we offered the children cardboard boxes and allowed their imaginations to soar. We began by reading the book "Not a Box". In the book, the main character takes a simple cardboard box and makes it into different creations. The children, after reading the book, allowed the simple boxes within our classrooms to take shape and change based on their play. Children pretended the boxes were houses, boats, rocket ships, and caves. They used the boxes in the play. Oliver walked up to the box and exclaimed, "Knock, knock, knock who is it?" We continued telling the story of Purim in preparation for our celebration on Tuesday. Children made groggers, crowns, and hats. They used their fine motor skills to paint glue and glitter, put stickers on, and put rocks in bottles. We told the story using puppets, and the children shook their groggers and booed at the name, Haman. The children used their detective skills and made predictions while discovering which friends’ pictures were under the clown masks on our wall. Shabbat was very special. Thank you to Jacob and his family for celebrating Shabbat with us. The children enjoyed the treats, the story reading and Shabbat songs in class and the synagogue. Shabbat Shalom, Hannah, Sigalit, and Karen
