Our week was filled with laughter, fun and lots of outdoor play. The weather was beautiful; the sun was shining and we spent a lot of time bundled up, playing outside. After the rain we had last week, our friends were so excited to play and explore the outdoors, once again. We noticed friendships developing in the sandbox, on the slide, and with friends from other classes. Running, climbing, sliding down the slide and riding scooters together continue to be an important part of our days at school. Playing outdoors allows our friends to explore their environment, develop muscle strength and coordination, and gain self-confidence. Playing outdoors also increases their flexibility, and fine/gross motor skills. As our friends play together and cooperatively, they are expressing themselves, trying out new ideas and problem-solving!
We are working on sharing play space, as well as, sharing buckets, shovels and bicycles. We are working on putting feelings into words and using language to express those feelings. These are all such valuable skills they are learning as they play together outdoors. Thank you to Liora and her family for making our Shabbat together so special this week. It was wonderful having Joelle and Noah join us at the Temple.
