Remember way back in September when we had parent chairs in our classroom?
The end of the school year is always bittersweet. It is rewarding to reflect on the progress that our children (and parents) have made, to celebrate new friendships and also, to reflect on how much our friends have grown and learned this year. The more challenging part is saying goodbye. This week, we have been talking about summer and all the fun things the children will be doing. On Tuesday and Wednesday, we will not only say goodbye to our toys, books and room but also, to our friends and teachers. We will involve the children in the goodbye process by asking them to help us clean the tables, take artwork off the wall and maybe wash some toys. It's a good idea not to talk about it too much at home as it may cause anxiety for some. We will continue to discuss it together next week. On Wednesday, June 1st, we will have a year-end celebration at noon. We would like to keep it low key so our friends get to enjoy their time together. We will have a closing circle, do some flannel stories and sing Shalom Chaverim. It's been an amazing year and we have much to celebrate; your children have transitioned and are moving on! We thank you for sharing your beautiful children with us and for your love and support. We will miss you and your children! Shabbat Shalom. Love, Marcela and Judy
