We hope everyone had a meaningful and reflective Yom Kippur.
Our friends in Room 25 are feeling more comfortable in our classroom each time they come to school. They are exploring and discovering new things. They are making choices about which activities and/or toys to play with. In our classroom, our set up includes an art table, a play dough table, a small manipulative and a large manipulative on the rug. The children can also choose to be in the library, the kitchen, or dress up area. And of course, they may choose to play outside. In our yard, we have different types of water play, a variety of activities in the sandbox, a reading area, a manipulative, a climbing structure and of course, bubbles. The children are making their own choices about which activities to be involved in. As we set-up our room and our outside space, we consider your child's interests and abilities. We encourage them to explore new things while still having the comfort and familiarity of knowing what will be there each time they come to school. Many friends have been visiting and exploring the "big yard" next door. They are interacting with friends and teachers and building relationships with our extended First Steps Community. We are so proud of each and every one of them! Reminders: Saturday, September 26: Tot Shabbat at 10:00 a.m. in Hershenson Hall. Monday, September 28: School is closed in observance of Sukkot. Shabbat Shalom and Chag Sameach! Marcela and Judy
