I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.”
― L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables As you know, starting school is a big milestone in your child's (and your) life and we know that each of you would like to get a sense of how your child's day is going. It's a good idea to ask them open-ended questions that don't have yes or no answers. They may not be ready to talk about their day when you first pick them up from school but when the timing is right, ask specific questions. 'What toys did you play with in the sandbox?, What did you have for snack today?, What was your favorite story at story time?, What color paint did you use today?" These types of questions encourage conversation between you and your child. You can tell them about your day and they can talk to you about their day. It's an opportunity for you to connect in a new way! It's been a very busy week...lots of water play and sand play! In addition, our friends in Room 25 became thoroughly immersed in pretending to be doctors, playing with Mr. Potato Heads, mixing paint colors at the art center, gluing, building with Legos and doing puzzles. So much fun and so much learning taking place! Reminders: Tuesday, October 31st - Noon Dismissal for all.
