Dear Parents,
What an amazing Passover celebration! It was so nice to see all the children sitting with their families and singing the Passover songs. We want to thank all of you for coming and participating in the preparations. The children have learned so much from this holiday, we are so proud of them. We are now working on our Passover journal and the children's pictures are getting full with lots of details. Their dictation is also much more detailed as they are able to recall more things from our discussions. We are also still practicing the four questions so that when you have your own Passover Seder at home you will be amazed by their singing. The week we come back from break is mothers and grandmother's week. Please come spend time in the classroom with your child, from 9 am to 10 am, all week long! Shabbat Shalom and Hag sameah. Anne and Vera Reminders: -April 17: spring break -May 2nd: School resumes. -May 2-6: Mothers and grand mother's week. Dear parents,
What a busy week here at wise school! The children are working really hard to prepare for Passover. First we started by telling the story of Passover. It is a long story with lots of details and it takes more than a couple of days do go over everything. We started our discussion with the slaves building the pyramids, to baby Moses in the basket, Pharaoh's daughter finding Moses and the plagues. There is so much information for the children to remember. We also had a visit from Rabbi Josh and he told us the story of Passover. The children have been working on making their matzah holder and afikoman holder. They are putting a lot of effort into creating these items that will come home and be part of your Passover Seder. Next Tuesday is our Passover Seder, parents are invited but please we are asking that only two parents come and no siblings as we are very limited in space. Shabbat Shalom. Anne and Vera Reminders: - Daditude: Sunday April 10th @ 9:15am on Witzman yard -Passover Seder: April 12th @ 11 am -Passover break: April 14 -May 2: school resumes. -Grand-mother and mother's week: May 2nd to May 6th ( more information to follow). Dear Parents,
We hope you all had a great Purim celebration! We are now moving on to the next holiday;Passover! We first started by introducing the children to the land of Egypt. We had a discussion about the Pharaohs and learned about the way of life of the Egyptian people. During a discussion one of the children brought up the subject of mummies and we discovered that many of the children were interested and knowledgeable about Egyptian life. We read books that explained how the pyramids were built and what the Egyptians used them for. We also learned that unlike the Jewish people, the Egyptians had many gods, more than a 100. This was our introduction to Passover and it has been fascinating. On Thursday we had fun doing tricycle express and on Friday we ate delicious fruits from the farmers market! Shabbat Shalom Anne and Vera Reminders: -Passover break: April 15 to May 2nd -register for summer camp -Pre-K Passover Seder: April 12 @ 11 am |
