Welcome back, room 3 families. What a wonderful week we had hearing about your vacations and staycations from your children. We spent time in circle speaking about our favorite part of vacation. We began to learn about the upcoming holiday called, Yom Haatzmaut. The children created decorations for our Shuk and Israeli flags for our celebration during Shabbat. We spoke about Israel being a country and we heard stories from children who have visited in the past. Some friends told us about different cities in Israel and about the food they love in Israel. We created our birthday wishes for Israel which are now hanging on the wall. We invite you to stop in the classroom at drop off and pick up to take a look at what your child wished for Israel. The children and teachers worked together to create a new counting game that they love! Each child says a number in order and when we get to a certain number, they sit down. We have mastered the English version and are now mastering the game 1-7 in Hebrew. PE with Coach Herold was a blast for the children. They began their unit on basketball. They learned triple threat stance, dribbling, and they began learning how to shoot. They were very excited to use the "big kid" hoops. Maestro taught the children the hand motions for David Melech Yisrael and they love to repeat the song throughout the day. Ask your children to teach you the hand motions for the song by reminding them of " bim bom, saw saw, knees knees, elbows elbows." Reminders: Please have your child come dressed in Blue and White on Tuesday May 2nd in honor of Yom Haatzmaut. Friday we look forward to celebrating Shabbat with Jonah and his family. Please remember a Hallah and plant. Mothers and Grandmothers week is May 8th-12th. If anyone would like to come in and do an activity with the children please let us know. (Cooking, arts and craft, reading). May 12th is the Mothers and Grandmothers brunch as well as all school Shabbat. May 19th is the last Tot Shabbat of the year.
