It was a bittersweet start to the week, as we had our last PE class of the year. Coach Herold made sure the children were able to play their favorite game one last time. The children split into 2 sides. In the middle are cones with balls on top. 2 children start with a ball and either throw or kick the ball, to try to knock the balls off the cones. The smiles on the children's faces are priceless when they work together as a team to win the game.
As a class, we worked hard to finish our 100-piece puzzle. As a team we worked on building the edge pieces first and then adding the middle pieces. Just as we thought we were finished, we seemed to have misplaced 2 of the pieces. The children searched high and low to find the pieces and complete the puzzle. We were so proud of their teamwork. Rabbi Josh and teacher Hannah came to the classroom to show us our beautiful Talit that will hang above us at Graduation. Rabbi Josh tied the first Tzitzit in front of the class. We helped him count the wraps and knots in both Hebrew and English. Reminders: We look forward to celebrating Shabbat with Celine and her family next week. Please remember a Hallah and Plant. Pre-K celebration is on June 7th. Please have your child dropped off in UDKO no later than 10:40am. NO SCHOOL- Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday

This week we continue to work on our songs for the Pre-K celebration. The children are so excited to share their songs with you. During music this week they decided to become the teachers and teach Maestro their celebration songs.
During PE the children learned a new game. The children worked on following directions, counting, and colors. They even tried to recreate the game on the yard. We introduced Shavuot and read the book "Ten Good Rules". We introduced the importance of rules and why we need them. Rabbi Josh came to class to elaborate on Shavuot and explaining the ten rules to the children. Camp Wise Directors Liz Broberg, Ashley Marx, and Tatiana Soofer stopped by for a special “Taste of Kindergarten Camp” for all N3 classes today! We did a runway relay, learned a new song called “Hermie the Worm”, and how to dance the boogie to Jackson’s “Blame it on the Boogie”! We hope to see them at Camp Wise this summer for more fun activities like swimming, sports, art, cooking, dance, science, music, martial arts, dress-up, petting zoo, bubble show, carnivals, Shabbat, and much more! Reminders: We look forward to celebrating Shabbat with Leah and her family next week. Pre-K celebration is June 7th at 11:00am. Please have your child in UDKO no later than 10:45! Thank you to all the mothers and grandmothers who made this week so special. Some of you came to read books with the children, while others participated in art and played games. The children made fresh orange juice by cutting oranges in half and using their strength and coordination to hold it on the juicer. They used blood oranges and regular oranges and enjoyed both during snack time. Temple was wonderful with all of our mothers and grandmothers and we thank you for your support. We hope you enjoy your beautiful gifts the children made for you. Please wait until Sunday to open it!
Rabbi Josh came to the classroom to speak about the Talit and taught everyone, "Yevarechecha." The children stood under the Talit with parents holding the Talit while they were blessed. While we did not have PE this week, the children took it into their own hands to create a basketball game on the big yard. They practiced their dribbling and shooting just like Coach Herold taught them. They also created their own obstacle course using big blocks, scooters, and cones. They waited their turn in line to complete the obstacle course without any guidance from the teachers. Reminders: We look forward to celebrating Shabbat with Celine and her family. Please remember a Hallah and plant. Friday May 19th is Tot Shabbat. Be sure to RSVP for dinner! Wednesday May 17th Lida is library mom. Dear Parents, This week the children took a "trip" to Israel to visit the Shuk. Outside on the patio, different stations were set up just like a real shuk in Israel, each offering a delicious treat for purchase. We had Pita and Hummus, Lemonade, Israeli salad, and a pickle/olive mix. The children each received Sheklim (Israeli money) to purchase their food at the stations. Jen brought her guitar and sang songs with all the classes. Each child made a wish for Israel and put the note into our Kotel. Everyone had such a wonderful time in their blue and white, celebrating Israels birthday with so much pride. With Mothers/Grandmothers week coming up next week, we invite you to come by the classroom and join in an activity with the class. We will also have a game on the wall for the Mom's to play. When you are in the classroom next week at any point, please look up at the wall and guess who you are! The children drew your pictures and wrote about you, and now it is your turn to guess. You can write your name in pencil on the picture you think is you. The children have become very interested in making rainbows and flowers. During quiet time, each child made a beautiful picture. Each day, we have been working with them to make a new flower or new type of rainbow. On their pictures, the children have begun to write words. Some people write "happy birthday, "while others write "mom" and "dad. " Reminders: Next week we look forward to celebrating Shabbat with Adam and his family. Please remember a plant and Hallah. Friday, May 12th is the Mother's/Grandmother's brunch. Friday, May 19th is our Tot Shabbat featuring the Beat Buds! RSVP in advance. |
