Room 9 Newsletter December 3-7 2018
This week was a wonderful and joyous week in Room 9! We did our final preparations for our Hanukkah party on Monday. The classroom was filled with sparkle and lights and the children’s Hanukkiot and their decorations looked so beautiful and festive. We practiced our songs for our performance with Maestro at music time. We also had a wonderful community Havdalah led by our director Jen. It is always a joy to see all the children welcoming a new week. By Tuesday morning the children were just so excited when they entered the classroom and saw the tables set out ready for our party. We were so happy and grateful to see all of you show up to witness what was such a happy and awesome performance by your children. Wearing their Maccabee shields and candle headbands, they each looked so adorable and they all sang their hearts out. Thank-you for helping to make our class Hanukkah party such a success! Wednesday was filled with literacy. First, we went to our beautiful Max Hess Library where Adler’s dad, Zach read two terrific books to the class. We enjoyed them so much and we thank him for coming in. We then joined the rest of the Pre-K classes in welcoming Anne-Marie Bella Asner an author of many Jewish children’s books. Her books are filled with many Yiddish words and references. She read the book Hanukkah with Noshy Boy and Friends. It was a terrific story and the children really enjoyed it. She was kind enough to give each child a bookmark and each class a book. We thank her so much for her thoughtfulness. Thank you to the Foruzanfar family for joining in celebrating Shabbat on Friday. It was a beautiful experience seeing you together with Liora.
