Dear Ulpanon Aleph Parents,
This week we focused on several words in Hebrew, chaver (friend), chaverim (friends) and z’man lehagid shalom (time to say goodbye) to name a few. The children have begun developing beautiful friendships within the classroom and continuing to build on current friendships while still including others within their play. The children have been singing good bye to each other at the end of the day when we do our closing circle and to hear them singing to each other in Hebrew is just heart warming. We continued with our Rosh Hashanah vocabulary, mainly focusing on the tapuch (apple) tapuach katan (small apple), benoni (medium), v’gadol (and big). We’ve been singing Tapuchim b’Dvash (Apples in Honey), Shanah Tovah (Happy New Year) and our own rendition of Bim Bam but singing “Shanah Tovah” in place of “Shabbat Shalom” within the song. The children learned about the color adom, red. On a piece of red construction paper the children used their fine motor skills to glue and collage various red items. We had Art with Joanne where the other half of the class had their chance to explore with clay. Using their whole bodies, the children began to roll out the clay and manipulate the clay to make it into various shapes. We also enjoyed our other weekly specialists, Music with Marcos, Yoga with Cheryl, Music with Ditza and Storah with Rabbi Sari. Reminders: No school on Monday, September 30th or Tuesday, October 1st in observance of Rosh Hashanah. If you send your daughter to school with skirts/dresses please have them wear shorts/leggings underneath. Shabbat Shalom, Chag Sameach, & Shanah Tovah, Gali, Mira and Miri
