Thanksgiving is around the corner and we are telling the story of the Pilgrims who sailed all the way from England to Plymouth Rock. We learned that the Pilgrims ate and slept on the ship (Oneeyah) for a very long time. This time of year we are Thankful to G-d and to family and friends, and the children spoke about what they are thankful for. We learned the song “Todah al kol mah sheh Nattah – Haim Moshe.”
Our ongoing Noah’s Ark project now has rain (geshem) coming down from the clouds (Ananeem). DON’T FORGET TO BRING FOOD FOR OUR THANKGSIVING FEAST. Parent Reminders & Messages: Snack of the week: Shabbat Child: December 5 - Oliver Library: December 10 – Stephen & Maytal Shabbat ShalomJ Mira & Liat In this short week we have managed to cover plenty of material. We spoke about clouds and created our own puffy clouds that caused the flood above our Tevah. We read “It looked Like Spilt Milk” cloud book. We spoke and read books about fall and went on a nature walk collecting leaves, pine cones and fall items for our fall collage. We spoke of the different colors of this season. The children opened up a Pumpkin, pulled the seeds out and we shared it with the all the Explorer friends. Every week we have music with Brock, this week he brought a Tarbukah and the kids LOVED it! Snack of the week: no snack Shabbat Child: November 1 Hayli Library: Charlie & Gabriel We are reviewing our Noah’s Ark … we are learning about the 7 colors of the rainbow and continuing our construction of the Tevah. We learned new songs about animals and rainbows (keshet). We spoke of the different animals that were on the Tevah during the 40 day and 40 night flood. The animals have finally made their long journey to the Tevah in room 15. The children were very excited to see them. We spoke about where rain comes from and created clouds. Next we will create a rainbow while learning about all the colors in Hebrew. This week started off with a birthday celebration for Justin & Jordan. We wish them a very Happy Birthday and a year of health and lots of learning. We visited the Book Fair this week and played on one of the PreK yards. We practiced our first Earthquake drill (Reeedat Adamah) and the children safely hid underneath the table. We spoke about what it means when the ground shakes. We worked on our cutting skills by cutting play dough with scissors. We are working on puzzles of various levels of difficulties as well. Our next topic that we will dive into is Fall (Stav). Please bring pumpkins and gourds of different colors and sizes - large, medium, and small so that we can continue our comparisons. Also any colored leaves that you can collect on a nature walk over this weekend. A BIG Thank You to Aiden’s family for donating all the books we put on our wish list from the Book Fair.
