Dear Parents,
First of all MAZAL TOV and many regards and wishes to Shylee and her parents for the birth of baby brother. Melody, we are glad that you are home and hope that you and the baby are feeling well. Good luck and we are here for all of you! As the weeks go by we are noticing the children's amazing development. Their social and emotional skills are getting better through lots of practice of sharing toys and taking turns. They communicate more with each other by using their words instead of their hands. Their cognitive skills are developing by reading books, hearing stories and singing songs. While playing outdoors, in different yards, the children get to improve their gross motor skills. We noticed they can walk, run and climb better. Our friends from room 10 love different kinds of art and while enjoying it they are developing their fine motor skills. Dear first step parents We had two exciting weeks filled with interesting activities in honor of Israel’s Independence Day and Mothers Day. The children were listening to stories and songs related to Israel. We read books such as “Sammy Spider First Trip To Israel” and “Let’s Visit Israel”. The children worked on Blue and White paintings, the children also crafted a creative collage using blue and white items such as: buttons, cotton balls, sand, pipe cleaners and tissue paper. On Thursday we took a walk to join an event that included special Israeli activities: we made fresh squeezed orange juice, we visited a mini farm in an Israeli kibutz, we played in a mini hospital, we visited Jerusalem including the Western wall, and at last we boarded an El Al flight to Israel! The children had lots of fun. For Mothers Day each child made a beautiful frame for his beloved mommy and we all had the pleasure to celebrate this special day together with you - mothers, thank you for coming!. have a great week and enjoy the attached photos of your sweet children. Warmly, Sigal and Michelle Dear First Step Parents,
This week our friends were busy exploring new play yards. We walked as we imagined the Jewish people walking out of Egypt singing the holiday songs. Our friends enjoyed running and jumping on the grass yard. The children used eye droppers and water colors to decorate their Matza covers. They also selected their favorite colored tissue paper to wrap their holiday project. We enjoy watching the children engage in sweet conversations and form new friendships. We wish you a Happy and peaceful Passover, Have a wonderful Spring break !( Monday April 15-Monday April 29th) We’ll miss our friends! Sigal and Michelle Dear first step parents
We had another exciting week filled with Passover fun. We walked out of Egypt singing “Dayeynu “ we worked hard for Pharaoh using plastic hammers and shovels. We had fun jumping like frogs. On Wednesday we had a wonderful Seder with all our families. A special thank you for celebrating with us and for bringing delicious food. On Thursday the children had a fun sensory activity mixing flower salt water and oil to make Matzah. Andrew came to visit our classroom for music and parachute movement . Enjoy the photos of your beautiful children . Shabbat Shalom Warmly , Sigal and Michelle Dear Parents,
On Monday we introduced the children to our Spring holiday, Passover. The story was introduced through a fun and interactive song . The children used hand motions to demonstrate all the hard labor imposed on the Jews by king Pharoah. We sang “The Frog “song and the children participated by jumping like frogs. We explored gadgets, which we then used to paint a classroom pyramid. The children painted Doylie’s to create their special Passover placemats, which will be used in our practice Seder. Our seder is scheduled for Wednesday April 3rd at 11:00 am . Due to space limitations, every child can have up to two adults. We look forward to celebrating with all the families of both January First Steps classes. Thank you for your food contribution to our school Seder. Shabbat Shalom, Sigal and Michelle Enjoy the photos attached! Dear Parents,
