September 20, 2017 Chag Sameach and Shana Tova Ulpanon Bet Families! This was a wonderful week in the spirit of Rosh Hashanah. Today, we came dressed in white, sang songs in class for the holiday and celebrated the Earth’s Birthday by baking a cake and singing “Yom Huledet Sameach La’Olam” – Happy Birthday to the World. This week, the children worked on their special greeting card – “Kartis Bracha” for Rosh Hashanah. Each child had time to share and describe their individual card during circle time. They were asked what special wish they would like to wish their family, and the words were added to the card. The cover of the card was decorated with Rosh Hashanah holiday symbols. The cards will be posted on the wall for you to enjoy. We cut open pomegranates in class, saw the many seeds inside and enjoyed eating them. We said that we would like to make as many Mitzvot, good deeds, this year as the “Rimon” has many seeds. We learned a fun pomegranate song, “Ma Ha’Tseva Shel Ha’Rimon?” – What is the Color of the Pomegranate? During dramatic play, the teacher shared a giant pomegranate that was missing its seeds… the children then searched and collected the hidden seeds throughout the room. We hope you all have a wonderful holiday! Chag Sameach and a Shana Metuka, a sweet new year, to you all. Reminders:
