We have continued to talk about the holiday of Purim. It is introduced daily by the artwork, music and stories we tell throughout the day. The children place the cut-outs of the five main characters on the flannel board and attempt to tell the story themselves. They hold groggers to block out the name of the wicked Haman and delight in yelling “boo” as well.
This week, the children made their own groggers from recycled water bottles. They used their small motor skills to place small objects in the bottles and made choices about the colors they wanted to use. Brock, our music specialist, brought wrist bells to class and the children used them while singing a Purim song. The repetition of a song is a great way for children this age to increase their vocabulary, understand a story, and have a fun time with their friends and teachers! Please bring Sova and tzedakah to class on Friday mornings. It’s a wonderful way for the children to begin to think about doing mitzvot and caring for others. Shabbat Shalom! Marcela and Sharon
