What a busy week we had in Room 25! The weather was warm, the sun was shining and we spent a lot of time playing outdoors. The children watered the plants with spray bottles and played with lots of water. We noticed friendships developing in the sandbox, on the slide., and on our new see saw. As our friends play cooperatively, they are expressing themselves, trying out new ideas and problem-solving! These are all valuable skills they are learning as they play together.
We also had a special visitor this week, Edward, who is a friend of Teacher Sue. Edward played his ukulele and sang songs. Our friends gathered around sang along and were fascinated by the new instrument. On Thursday, we walked to Plotkin Chapel and Rabbi Josh removed the Torah from the ark. The children were able to touch the Torah and see it up close. Rabbi Josh talked about the stories from the Torah, how old the Torah is and how important the Torah is to all of us! It was a beautiful experience for all the First Steps classes. Thank you Rabbi Josh for taking the time to share your love of Torah with us.
