It's been wonderful watching our friends in Room 25 become so immersed in the Passover story. Through various forms of play, including art, imaginative play, cooking, music, storytelling and, of course, becoming frog experts; the children have learned the story of the Israelites leaving Egypt - the story of Passover. Learning is most effective when it is fun and a hands-on experience. On Monday, Andrew, our music teacher, came with his guitar and together we sang Passover songs. The frog song is definitely a favorite! We also took part in the SOVA food drive. We walked upstairs and brought our canned food and Tzedakah to help people who may not have enough food to eat. We talked to the children about giving to others and also talked about how lucky we are that we have enough food and clothes. We made Matza pizza this week. The children spread lots of sauce and cheese on the matza. They also enjoyed eating the cheese as they made their pizzas. We baked it and then had it for snack. Our friends in Room 25 noticed that the cheese looked different after it came out of the oven. We asked them what happened to the cheese? Why does it look different after we baked it? Cooking is a great learning experience! We look forward to seeing everyone at our Seder on Wednesday at 11:00. We will retell the story of Passover, sing Passover songs and eat delicious food! Please remember to bring your assigned food on Wednesday morning or before. Thank you! Reminders: Our Passover Seder is Wednesday, April 5th at 11:00. Spring Break starts on Monday, April 10th Friday, April 7th - 12:00 dismissal Back to school on Monday, April 24th. Thank you to Ryder and his family for joining us for Shabbat.
