"Water play fosters learning in all developmental areas. It provides opportunities for children to experiment with math and science concepts, strengthen their physical skills, advance their social and emotional skills, and enhance language development (Crosser, 1994; Hendrick, 1996)."
Room 25 had such a wonderful week! We started our week by celebrating Sasha's third birthday. It was wonderful having Sasha's family celebrate with us. The cupcakes were delicious! Our friends also had the opportunity to be part of our school's history. this week. Together, we all went to the construction area, and each child made a picture, next to their name on a beam that is now part of the new Pavillion. The weather was warm and our friends loved playing outside with water all week. The children enjoyed watering the plants, making mud in the sand, and pouring water from one cup to another. While playing so much learning is happening. Social skills expand as they play cooperatively; math skills develop as they experiment with concepts such as more/less, many/few, empty/full. Water play also encourages the development of eye/hand coordination through pouring, squeezing, stirring, and squirting. And best of all, everyone always has a really good time! Happy 3rd birthday to our Shabbat boy, Jordan! It's always wonderful bringing in the warmth of Shabbat together. Thank you to Jordan's family for celebrating with us and for the delicious challah, and beautiful birthday cake. Reminders: Saturday, March 18th - Tot Shabbat Save the Date - Our Classroom Passover Seder is on Wednesday, April 5th. More information to follow! It was so wonderful chatting with all of you this week. It was such a pleasure sharing stories about your wonderful children. We thank you for sharing them with us. They bring love and light into our classroom and our community! Shabbat Shalom, Marcela and Judy
