Dear Parents,
What a wonderful few weeks it has been getting to know you and your beautiful children. We have so enjoyed spending time with them and playing together. Each of your children is becoming familiar with their new teachers and their new environment. They are doing incredibly well and our classroom is beginning to feel very homey! We want you to feel comfortable in knowing that we understand and respect that each child will handle separation in their own way. We are happy that so many friends are feeling comfortable when their mommies leave the classroom, and we respect that other friends may need some more time. While playing and spending time together, we have noticed that your children love playing with airplanes, cars, Legos, puzzles, babies, and all types of manipulatives. They also love playing outside with water and of course, playing in the sandbox. On Monday, Room 25 had music with Andrew, our Music Specialist. The children loved singing and dancing and also experimenting with different types of music accessories. This week we used egg shakers and scarves to make beautiful music and rainbows. We look forward to having music with Andrew every Monday. This week we also talked about the holiday of Rosh Hashanah - the birthday of the World. We introduced, the symbols of the holiday - apples and honey, the shofar, and a round challah. We talked and sang about about "apples dipped in honey for Rosh Hashanah " so all our family and friends will have a very sweet New Year! We also sang Happy Birthday to the world in Hebrew and English! We want to thank you all for being so supportive of your children and of our First Steps Program. We are delighted to have you and your children in Room 25! Reminders: Wednesday, September 20th - Erev Rosh Hashanah - 12:00 dismissal for all. Thursday, September 21st and Friday, September 22nd - NO SCHOOL Wishing you and those you love happy, healthy and peaceful New Year! Shana Tovah! Shabbat Shalom, Sigal, Marcela and Judy
