The children in Room 25 are enjoying this season of Hanukkah. They have spun dreidels on wooden blocks, weighed them on a scale, and decorated their own “stained glass” window dreidels. They wrapped their own pretend presents using real gift boxes, ribbon and tape and they have begun to recognize all the familiar Hanukkah songs and symbols.
They have experienced the smells and tastes of Hanukkah by having latkes dipped in sour cream with their snack. The children will bring home their own handmade version of a Hanukkiah as a special gift for their family. They worked very hard gluing, painting and glittering each candle and its flame. The weather has been beautiful and they love to play in the sandbox. They created mountains in the wet sand and especially liked walking across them. Please check your child’s box regularly for extra clothing, socks, underwear and diapers. We are now going off to Shabbat services on Fridays and would love to bring Sova along with us for the children to place in the Sova bin. Also, they really enjoy adding coins to our Tzedakah box! We are looking forward to our classroom Hanukkah party on Wednesday, December 17. Please be sure to bring in your assigned food that morning and remember that all parents are invited! Shabbat Shalom, Sharon and Marcela
