We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with lots of good food, family and fun! Our Thanksgiving feast at school was amazing and we are grateful that all of you are part of our Wise community!
December has arrived and we have had a week filled with joyous Hannukah spirit. This week we learned Hannukah songs, read books about Hannukah, colored dreidels with markers at the art table, practiced spinning dreidels and placed Hannukah candles in a Chanukiyah. We talked about how we light candles on Hannukah just like we do on Shabbat. We learned about the helper candle, the Shamash, and talked about what an important job the Shamash has because helping others is an important thing to do. This week our little mouse hid under different colored dreidels for our Hannukah flannel board story. It's been a really wonderful week! Through play, we are learning math concepts like counting, sorting, greater than and less than. We are also learning about colors and practicing fine motor skills by spinning dreidels and placing candles in our Chanukiyah. We have noticed that our friends are developing longer attention spans and can focus on an activity for longer periods of time. As the weeks go by, we are watching your children grow and learn so many new things. We hope everyone can join us for our Hannukah party on Wednesday, December 9th at 11:15. Thank you for signing up to bring something delicious to eat! Looking forward to celebrating together as a community. Please check your child's box to make sure they have extra clothing and diapers/wipes. Our Hanukkah Tot Shabbat is on Friday evening, December 11 at 5:30 p.m. Enjoy a Shabbat service with Rabbi Josh and Ditza, along with a community candle lighting, a traditional Hanukkah dinner and tremendous fun afterwards with the Beat Buds.
